臺灣從1949年5月20日始至1991年5月22日為止經歷白色恐怖時期,

由中國國民黨執政的中華民國政府在臺灣進行威權統治。

影片記錄受害者或其家屬讀出相關信件,隱藏的創傷和記憶一代一代傳承下來的。

它們在過去、現在和未來留下了痕跡。


Taiwan experienced a period of white terror from May 20, 1949 to May 22, 1991.

The government of the Republic of China ruled by the Chinese Kuomintang

exercised authoritarian rule in Taiwan.

Traumas and memories are passed from generation to generation.

They have left traces in the past, present and future.

教育是中國各個階層共同焦慮的話題,無數家庭窮盡所有把孩子送去國外,

都是希望自己的孩子得到更好的教育。

身為兩個孩子的母親,常年報道國際新聞的記者周軼君感受到同樣的焦慮。

軼君走訪芬蘭、日本、印度、以色列及英國等五個國家,

最後回到中國,踏上一趟關於教育哲學的思考之旅。

沒有競爭的芬蘭教育,怎樣告訴孩子什麽是成功或失敗?

貧富差距極大的印度,怎樣用網絡教育彌合孩子之間的差距?

集體意識濃厚的日本怎樣讓孩子理解個人和團隊的平衡?

影片從小孩的角度去體驗課堂,從家長的角度去感受不同的教育方式,

也從不同社會的文化、歷史出發,去對教育作一個深刻思考。

探尋的旅途上,軼君同時回憶起自己的童年,也經歷了一次重新審視自身的旅程。

Education is a topic of anxiety among all classes in China.

Countless families have exhausted everything to send their children

abroad in the hope that their children will receive a better education.

As a mother of two children, Zhou Yijun, a perennial journalist

covering international news, feels the same anxiety.

Yijun visited five countries including Finland, Japan, India, Israel

and the United Kingdom, and finally returned to China to embark on

a journey of thinking about educational philosophy.

Finnish education without competition,

 how to tell children what is success or failure?

In India, where there is a huge gap between the rich and the poor,

 how to use online education to bridge the gap between children?

How does Japan, with its strong sense of group,

 help children understand the balance between individuals and teams?

The film experiences the classroom from the perspective of children,

 experiences different education methods from the perspective of parents,

and makes a profound reflection on

education from the culture and history of different societies.

On the journey of exploration, Yijun recalled his childhood at the same time,

and also experienced a journey of re-examining himself.

In a sea of people, generations come in waves.

“SALT TO THE SEA: Interviews of the Hong Kong Post 90’s Generation”

is a collection of 29 stories from different Hong Kong 90’s.
Extended from the book, the installation keep exploring and rebuilding a platform for dialogues between the young and old generations.

盲人棒球隊讓社會大眾知道視障者擁有能力去圓自己的夢,

不需憐憫只需要肯定與機會。
球隊經理人佳欣,原是家庭主婦,因為不育,承受家族壓力,

後來索性放低家庭的包袱,放棄婚姻,全程投入盲人棒球隊。

她覺得盲棒運動很有意義,可以幫助一些盲人重建能力和信心。

她帶領一班原本身心都有創傷的失明人士,

讓他們在草地上自由地奔跑,體驗與一般人無異的自由。

她最希望的是帶領盲棒去到世界盃比賽。

There is no need for mercy, only affirmation and opportunity.

The blind baseball team wants the public know visually impaired have the ability to fulfill their dreams.
The team manager Jia Xin was originally a housewife.

Because of infertility and family pressure, she simply lowered the burden of the family,

gave up marriage, and devoted herself to the blind baseball team.

She leads a group of blind people who were originally traumatized,
allowing them to run freely on the grass and experience the same freedom as ordinary people.
And what she hopes most is to lead the blind stick to the blind baseball World Cup.

凌晨時分,當岸上的人在熟睡時,漁人已出海捕魚。

擺攤賣魚,賺得酬勞,也賺得人情。

海上風平浪靜,一船滿載而歸,似乎足矣,但漁人仍有一個未圓的願望。

這個漁人的願望,大抵也是許多香港人的願望。

While most of us are asleep, the fishermen are already heading out to sea.

Then they return ashore to sell their catch, chatting with customers.

Despite the romance of the sea, these fishermen are full of aspirations, many unfulfilled.

What they wish for is actually the same as most Hong Kong-ers.

A Difficult Path

赤柬倒台三十餘年,留下的巨大陰霾仍籠罩著整個柬埔寨。

Chamlan是位於近泰國荒蕪邊境的村落,曾是紅色高棉軍陣地,

距離城市Battamban近五小時車程,沿路非常崎嶇。

村子依然受地雷威脅,加上土地貧瘠,村民只能靠種植瘦弱的栗米、

小稻或兼職斬木薯維生,過著艱巨的生活。
但因地價便宜,吸引了帶著不同希望的人來居住,

最後卻被困在村落裡得不到援助,又找不著出口。

要前往他們心中理想的地方,是一條困難的道路。

30 years after the fall of the Red Cambodian regime,

the huge haze left behind still shrouds the whole of Cambodia.

Chamlan is a village near the deserted border of Thailand.

It was once a Khmer Rouge army position.

It is nearly five hours' drive from the city of Battamban, and the road is very rough.
The village is still threatened by mines, Coupled with the barren land,

the villagers can only rely on planting skinny chestnut rice,
small rice or part-time cassava to make a living, leading a arduous life.
However, due to the cheap land price,

it attracted people with different hopes to live there,
but in the end they were trapped in the village without assistance.
Can't find an exit. It's a difficult road to get to where they want to be.
